Where are you based?

I currently live in Suffolk, England. (Only 2 hours away from London). I'm always on the road, travelling and shooting weddings over the country. So it's always worth asking where I am near the time of your wedding. You might get lucky and I'm just round the corner!

How much does it cost to travel to our wedding?

It's likely much cheaper than you think. I'm always looking to photograph weddings and elopements internationally and nationally and the travel can be very affordable. If your wedding is further then 1 hour from Suffolk, then just ask me for a travel quote when you enquire via the contact form.

How do we book you?

Easy! Send me an email and see if your wedding date is still available. If it is and you are happy with my packages, then I will send you out a deposit invoice and a contract to sign. That's it! Super duper easy. Oh, and I am more than happy to catch up for a cuppa and a chat anytime!

Can we meet you before the big day?

We sure can. I love to meet all my clients before the wedding. If that's not possible because of distance, then a simple phone call or facetime is always a great option.

What is your photography style?

I take a more documentary style approach capturing moments as they play out. However for the couple shots sometimes it's necessary to give a couple of simple prompts to get those natural looking shots.

Do you offer engagement or other pre-wedding shoots?

I certainly do. They are can be purchased à la carte. ( Not included because most the time people are too busy to have one, or they really don't enjoy photoshoots.)

When will I receive my photographs?

You will expect to receive your slideshow around 4 weeks after the wedding. I send out the photo package containing your images to your postal address usually 2 weeks after that. If you have ordered an album, it will take up to 3 weeks for printing after it is complete.

What do we receive?

You will receive the images that I have carefully selected, edited and colour-graded (approximately 400-1000 images depending on how long i'm there). The photos will be sized for print, so you can print your photos as many times as you like. They will also be resized for social media and email. So it's easy to share your images as soon as you get them. All the images come on a custom USB stick, with 10 fine art prints and a wooden box to wrap up the whole package!
If you have ordered an Album, I will work with you to make sure it is exactly how you want it. It can be ready just weeks after you receive your photos.

Where are your prices?

Packages can be found HERE They range from £2,200 to £10,000. To guarantee everyone can get to experience me at their wedding. Each Package can be personalised too, with extra hours, prints, albums etc. Nothing is set in stone until we have had our first meeting and I can help work out exactly what you need for the perfect day.

Will you be the one taking the photos on the day or someone else?

It will be me! And sometimes I'll have an assistant helping me if we need lighting. Depending how big the wedding and which package you go for you may get one of my amazing 2nd shooters which can let me focus more on creating magic.
( If you really want my style and I am fully booked fret not! I have some very talented associate shooters who can capture your day and you can still get me to edit your photos in the epic Nichols style.)

My venue might not be as luxurious as some other weddings, will that matter?

I don’t think a wedding is about the location, its about the people and its about the love they share. I love all weddings, any shape and size! I make sure I put in 110% into every wedding so I can continue to book amazing clients. It's ALL about the people.

How about same -sex marriage?

Fortunately the U.K has legalised same-sex weddings for a long time. We definitely get the champagne out when other countries finally catch up to the modern world.
I have shot same-sex weddings and I am looking forward to shooting some overseas as time comes.

We don’t really like wedding photos where the couple are posing and forcing the smiling in every photo, We like the natural candid photos a lot more!

I feel the same way. I won't be making you smile for every photo. In fact you won’t notice that I am there for most of the day. When it comes to the couples portraits, I can give enough direction so you feel comfortable and not to much so you are still looking very natural.

Do you prefer flash photography or natural light?

I'm a lover of both natural light and flash. Natural light helps preserve the real mood and feeling at the wedding. But sometimes those editorial shots are what my couples want and I love them too. I love using the light that I have to make the best of a situation. Of course I use flash when it gets too dark at night.

I’m really keen to book, but I live in Norway. Or Alaska. Or the middle of Australia. Will you travel this far?

Absolutely. I love travel. My first trip on a plane was when I was 18 years old, flying alone to China to visit my Myspace friends ( Yup, that makes me sound old). Since then I have been keen to travel all over. I have also extensively explored the U.K and it's it's beautiful counties.

I want some of my photographs to be exclusive and not used on the website. Is that a problem?

Not at all. I have a password protected area on my website.

How much is the deposit? Is it refundable and how quick will I have to pay it?

It is advisable to pay the deposit as soon as you make your final decision. This deposit secures the date for your booking. The deposit is 35% of the package chosen and is non refundable. You can always pay in full if you'd like to make things easier. However 35% of the total will be counted as a non-refundable deposit automatically.

How can I choose to Pay?

Any way you like! I want to make it as streamlined as possible so everything is done for you. Perhaps you want those airmiles from your Amex to put towards your honeymoon! No Problem!

When do I have to pay the whole amount?

The outstanding amount is due at least 2 weeks before the wedding date. I can also help with a payment plan.

Do you shoot with a second photographer? Or do you ever have an assistant?

I sometimes use a second shooter. It depends on the size and complexity of the wedding. A second shooter is available for most weddings at a separate fee. I sometimes use an assistant, I will notify you before bringing anyone to your wedding.

Have you ever cancelled a booking or not shown up to a wedding?

Never ever ever! And I plan on keeping it that way. If for some reason I really could not shoot your wedding for whatever reason, I do have a backup plan for that situation.

Are you insured?

Absolutely!!!

Can I purchase an Album after the wedding day?

Yes of course! You can purchase an album at any time, that includes parent albums. A lot of my clients order their album for Christmas or on their first year anniversary.
