5 IMPORTANT MUST KNOW TIPS FOR A BRIDE AND GROOM

1. COMFY FOOTWEAR

One of the most overlooked things I find brides and grooms don't think about when choosing their outfits is how long they're going to be standing in their shoes. You want to be enjoying the first dance and able to walk the next day right? I thought so haha!

For the bride it's always good to have a spare pair of flats on hand, (Unless you're a seasoned heel wearer!)

Think about how much walking you may do during the day, perhaps you're planning on having your photos taken in a field, which could mean a lot of mud if it rains, so think wellies guys n gals!

2. GET THOSE PERFECT GETTING READY PHOTOS

To get the absolute most out of the locations where you're getting ready it's always a good idea to consider having one of your groomsmen/bridesmaids keeping an area clean at all times so there's a nice clean, open space for photos. No mess to distract from your awesome photos. ( Unless you're going for the messy I.D.G.A.F rock n' roll kinda vibe, which can be cool too in the right place, n right people)

Remember that the more light the better in these situations, so the clearer the room and less clutter the better the photos will likely be.

3. MUSIC IS KEY!

Music is such a powerful device, it can be used to set a mood and tone of a room in just a few seconds, so why not have your favourite tunes on while you're getting ready. It helps settle the nerves, I find silence in a room can really bring on the anxiety of the day for some brides and grooms. I quite often end up bringing a Bluetooth speaker that can connect to Spotify. Most of the time it really lets everyone unwind and enjoy the moment.

If you're really nervous or feel awkward in front of a camera I also recommend adding music while having your portraits taken. Sometimes the best photos are just of you and your soulmate enjoying a song together not even knowing you're being photographed.

4. FIRST LOOK

Have you considered having a "First Look"? A lot of first looks I've seen in the past have just been between Bride & Groom, However I find although most weddings I shoot don't follow all traditions, most prefer to see their love of their life dressed up for the first time when walking down the aisle.

But there's nothing stopping you capturing the reaction of the father of the bride and/or bridesmaids when they first see you in your dress looking the most beautiful they've ever seen you. A perfect photo opportunity that can often be missed during the few seconds you're walking down the aisle.

5. GOLDEN HOUR

Golden hour is the most stunning time of day to capture photos, it's the hour just before sunset when the sun shines down covering everything in it's warmth and beauty.

I highly recommend planning a short time to sneak away and get some gorgeous sunset photos of you both, then you can get back to partying with all your awesome family and friends.
